LUPE FIASCO SHARES SAMURAI! TOUR INFO IN A CREATIVE NEW WAY

Lupe Fiasco has unveiled his fall tour plans in a unique way—through a new song. On Tuesday (July 23), the Chicago rapper dropped a track titled “Tickets,” featuring cover art that lists the dates and cities for his upcoming Samurai! Tour. The song’s lyrics include a direct message about where to find more details. “Man, we about to hit the road / Lupe Fiasco dot com slash shows,” he sings in the intro.

The 19-date tour kicks off on October 3 at Terminal 5 in New York City and wraps up on November 24 at The Novo in Los Angeles. For full details and to purchase tickets, head over to his website, just like Lupe instructs in the song.

In addition to touring, Lupe Fiasco is looking to revive one of his most cherished side projects, Child Rebel Soldier (CRS). This early 2000s collective, originally consisting of Lupe, Pharrell Williams, and Kanye West, might see a comeback—though with a new twist.

In a recent interview with Stereogum, Lupe hinted at a “reboot” of CRS, but with a solo spin. He envisions rapping over Radiohead samples, bringing a fresh take to the project. “I’m gonna reboot CRS in the next six months, maybe next year,” he revealed. “Tyler, The Creator has one of the CRS records. But it’s going to go back to the original energy, with me rapping over Radiohead beats.”

He further detailed his plans: “It’s a tricky situation because I might release it as freestyles since clearing those records could be impossible. I’ve always wanted to collaborate with Radiohead’s producer, Nigel Godrich. I might work with him, but realistically, I’ll go back to the original vibe, find those dope loops and samples from Radiohead or their solo projects, loop them up, and create beats with them.”

Lupe continued, “I’ll either drop some freestyle tracks or a full tape, and if I get sued, so be it. Expect tracks like ‘National Anthem,’ ‘Us Placers,’ and ‘Animal Pharm’ as the first singles, with potentially more to follow. We’ll see what happens.”
