Cher has announced that the first part of her memoir, “Cher: The Memoir, Part One,” will be released on November 19 via Dey Street Books. The cover, featuring a vintage black-and-white photo of Cher with her iconic black bangs and cat-eye makeup, has been unveiled.
This first volume will delve into Cher’s early life, exploring her tumultuous childhood, the challenges posed by dyslexia, and her transformative relationship with Sonny Bono, along with their rise to fame as a pop duo in the 1960s and 1970s.
In 2021, it was revealed that a Cher biopic is in development, directed by Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman, the team behind the hit movie “Mamma Mia!” Cher herself is also a producer on the film. However, earlier this year, reports emerged that Cher had turned down the script written by Academy Award–winning screenwriter Eric Roth. The second volume of her memoir is expected to be released in 2025.
