Michael Schenker has released a second single from his upcoming album, My Years with UFO. This new rendition of “Rock Bottom,” extended to 11 minutes from its original six-and-a-half-minute length on UFO’s 1974 album Phenomenon, features vocals from Helloween’s frontman Kai Hansen.
The release of “Rock Bottom” follows last month’s debut of “Mother Mary,” which showcased former H.E.A.T. and Skid Row singer Erik Grönwall on vocals and Slash from Guns N’ Roses on guitar.
My Years In UFO is set for release on September 20 via earMusic. The album includes contributions from various guest musicians such as Axl Rose, Joey Tempest and John Norum of Europe, Roger Glover, Dee Snider, Michael Voss, Joel Hoekstra, Joe Lynn Turner, Carmine Appice, Adrian Vandenberg, and Stephen Pearcy, along with band members Derek Sherinian, Brian Tichy, and Barry Sparks.
Produced by Schenker and his regular collaborator Michael Voss, who released a solo album last year titled Rockers Rollin’ in tribute to the late Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt, My Years In UFO is the first installment in a planned trilogy, with subsequent albums expected in 2025 and 2026.
